Cause-effect chains in S-LCA based on DPSIR framework using Markov healthcare model: an application to “working hours” in Canada

Abstract Purpose This study has two aims: first, propose the use of driver-pressure-state-impact-response (DPSIR) framework to expand normal focus impact pathways in social life cycle assessment (S-LCA) on endpoint impacts a systematic analysis find links between main sources issues and impacts; second, develop new method quantify lifetime health economic outcomes associated with subcategories, for first time, using decision analytic models. Methods The DPSIR is mapped corresponding elements S-LCA context relation subcategories defined UNEP/SETAC methodological sheets. Next, more robust approach developed cause-impact chains human well-being based decision-analytic models (decision trees Markov models) healthcare approaches data. Finally, consequences are quantified by Quality Adjusted Life Years (QALYs) costs medical literature studies.
